Spiritual Growth Websites

Renovare': Founded by Richard Foster, author of Celebration of Discipline and many other excellent books on the Christian life, Renovare' shares with individuals and churches a vision and strategy for developing a balanced spiritual life that includes prayer, compassion, virtue, a love for God's Word and the experience of God's Spirit. A number of articles offer great insight into taking the next step in deepening discipleship.

MethodX: From the same people who bring you The Upper Room, this site approaches spirituality with a young adult audience in mind. Two of the most useful sections of MethodX deal with prayer methods and a "spiritual type" test.

Sacred Space: Especially valuable for those who spend regular time at a computer, Sacred Space is a daily online prayer guide developed by the Irish Jesuits. By clicking through a series of links, visitors are invited to take a 10 minute "prayer journey" that invites them to reconnect with God in the midst of a busy day.

Upper Room Ministries: The Upper Room is just one of several devotional guides published by Upper Room Ministries, a publishing house with Methodist ties that dates back to the 1930's. In addition to online devotional resources, the site offers articles on spirituality and an interactive inventory that enables you to assess your "spiritual type".

Monvee: Monvee is an on-line spiritual development tool that helps individuals identify the facets of their spiritual life in which they would like to grow, and then helps them develop a plan to pursue enrichment.

Online Spiritual Gift Inventories: The Bible teaches that all of God's people have been given spiritual gifts that they are meant to use to serve others. While the ultimate indicators of our spiritual gifts are our own prayer and reflection combined with the feedback of trusted friends, spiritual gift inventories often are helpful in jump-starting our thinking. Each of the links below will take you to an online inventory that provides quick feedback on the spiritual gifts you may possess.
